Can you get neon colors with SHELLAC™?

Even though SHELLAC™ does not make neon colors due to the exclusive use of natural pigments, there are safe gel alternatives you can use.

Why doesn't SHELLAC have neon colors?

One of the most requested shades for SHELLAC™ is consistently neon colors. That usually increases during spring and summer, as there are more frequent customer requests for the effect. To get beautiful shades and safe products, CND™ uses a combination of natural pigments to achieve the desired color. Neon as such does not exist as a natural pigment, therefore for now that is not possible with SHELLAC™ per se.

What is the best alternative to SHELLAC™, if you still want Neon colors?

1. Have the customer wash hands with soap and running water for 20-30 seconds. Massage COOLBLUE™ into the client’s hands.
2. Perform a proper P.E.P on all nails. File the nails to the correct shape and length.
3. Clean and temporarily dehydrate the nail plate with SCRUBFRESH™ . Pull the skin back at the side folds so you get all the way under. Remember the front and the tip of the nails too.
4. Apply a thin layer of CND™SHELLAC™ Base Coat to the nails. Remember to seal the entire front and sides. Press button 1 in the CND™ LED lamp. The lamp will flash during curing.
5. Apply SHELLAC™ Lady Lilly. Remember to apply the color thinly and evenly on all the nails. Remember to start by sealing all sides and edges. Press button 2S in the CND™ LED lamp.
6. Take your brush and apply the Neon pigments in the sticky layer on the entire nail, so that the entire surface is covered and the pigments are pressed all the way down onto the nail. Brush off excess pigments.
   • Now apply a thin layer of SHELLAC™ Clearly pink, you apply ywo layers of pigments to achieve a much better color and effect. Brush off excess pigments from the nail.
   • Press the neon pigments again into the surface of the thin layer of SHELLAC™ Clearly pink, you apply two layers of pigments to achieve a much better color and effect. Brush off excess pigments from the nail.
7. Now apply SHELLAC™ Top Coat evenly to all nails. Remember to start by sealing all sides and edges, first remove any excess pigment that may be on the edge. Press button 3 in the CND™ LED lamp. It is IMPORTANT that you make the seals correctly, so check before putting your hand in the lamp.
8. Remove the film, that is on the nails with a nail wipe moistened with TopFinish. It is important that you wait approx. 60 seconds after the hand comes out of the lamp before wiping the surface, otherwise it may become dull in the surface.
