To achieve a perfect result, it is super important that your clients work with you. Explain to your clients what to look out for and how the cooperation works. Here we explain everything about it.
The results of a waxing treatment can last between 2-4 weeks, depending on whether the hair roots grow back or not. With regular depilation, the time between treatments can extend to 4-6 weeks or longer. As hair growth stages vary from person to person, you may need a few treatments before you see the full benefits of depilation.
Why are some hairs still visible after waxing?
If you still see some hair after a waxing treatment, this can have several causes
- The clients come for the initial treatment and have shaved the area beforehand.
When clients come for waxing treatment and have shaved the area a few days before, the hairs may be of different lengths. Often the hairs are visible and noticeable but are not exposed on the surface. Therefore, it is important that clients do a gentle exfoliation beforehand to remove the dead skin cells and to expose the hair.

- The wrong technique was used or the wrong wax was chosen.
- When waxing the respective areas of the body, you must be very careful to always remove the wax or fleece strip in a flat motion. If you remove the wax or the fleece strip too steeply, the likelihood increases that the hair will break and you will not achieve a smooth result. Choosing the right wax also plays a crucial role in achieving a perfect result in just one pass.

Why customers should NOT shave between treatments!
To achieve long-lasting good results, your clients should definitely not reach for the razor between treatments. With every shave, hairs remain in the skin surface and you may not be able to remove all the hairs during the next waxing treatment and the result may not be satisfactory. Explain to your clients the differences between a shave and a waxing treatment.
TIP: If your clients find the intervals between waxing treatments too long, keep the intervals shorter for the next 2-3 treatments. You can also agree individual prices for this with your clients.
Difference between shaving and a waxing treatment
- When shaving, a lot of pressure is often applied to get a smooth skin feeling.
A very close shave not only sharpens the hair, but it also sits slightly below the surface of the skin after shaving and is therefore visible and noticeable more quickly. In addition, there is a higher risk of the hair growing in. - Waxing, on the other hand, helps to weaken the hair follicles over time. The likelihood of hair growing in is significantly lower. The hair grows finer and less. In addition, you have a longer-lasting smoothness and no annoying hair stubble when it grows back.
TIP: In the blog post Offensive against ingrown hairs, we explain how to treat ingrown hairs and why it is important to exfoliate the skin regularly.
