Which care products should be used during a wax treatment?

Learn which care products are used before and after waxing. We explain why home care is also important for an optimal result.

A waxing treatment is a holistic beauty treatment. The Perron Rigot™ waxing concept includes a pre- and post-treatment. It is particularly important to always integrate the pre- and post-treatment products into the treatment to achieve a beautiful and long-lasting result. By selling additional home care products, you not only increase your turnover, but also extend the shelf life of the waxing treatment.

Preparation products

Cleaning and degreasing

  • The Purifying Blue Lotion removes excess creams and other residues in the first step. It has a refreshing and astringent effect and serves to cleanse and and remove oils from the skin.
  • The Pre & Post Depilatory Lotion is specially formulated for the most sensitive skin types and areas. It also removes excess creams and debris in the first step. The lotion is an astringent, cleansing and refreshing gel.

Skin protection

Before waxing, prepare the skin with just a drop of oil. The oil serves as a protection of the skin barrier and stays on the skin surface, but not on the hair. This way the wax only sticks to the hair and not to the skin. By rubbing the oil lightly, you also set the hair.

  • Pre & Post Depilatory Jasmin Oil is a soothing, moisturizing and nourishing oil for use before and after waxing.
  • Pre Wax Depilatory Calming Oil is a soothing, healing, nourishing and protective oil with a mild floral fragrance. Due to its soothing ingredients, it is particularly well suited for sensitive skin types and areas.

INFO: Jasmine and Calming Oil contains mineral oil. The oil should not be used on the face as it could lead to impurities.

Follow-up products

Removal of wax residues

Wax residue can be removed directly with Jasmine Oil or Calming Oil after waxing. Put a few drops of oil on a cotton pad and remove all sticky spots.

TIP: Instead of a cotton pad, you can also use a fleece strip.

Cleansing, refreshment and moisture

After waxing, we recommend cleansing the skin with Purifying Blue Lotion or Pre & Post Depilatory Lotion. This closes pores as quickly as possible and prevents inflammation. A finishing treatment such as Refreshing Gel or Moisturizing Lotion gives the skin the moisture it needs after the waxing treatment.

Home care before and after a wax treatment

Home care plays a very important role in a waxing treatment. Explain to your clients exactly why it is so important to apply products at home. Your clients should work with you to achieve good and long-lasting results.

What your customers should definitely know:

  • Peeling: To improve the results of a waxing treatment and reduce the risk of ingrown hairs, your clients can use the Double Scrub Ingrown Hair Peeling. Advise your clients to gently exfoliate their skin a few days before and after their waxing appointment. Exfoliation with Double Scrub Ingrown Hair can be done up to 3 times a week. Removing dead skin cells leaves the skin healthy and soft between waxing appointments. 48 hours after hair removal, Ingrown Hair Serum* can be applied spot on 1-2 times a week to specifically prevent ingrown hairs.
  • Moisture: Your clients need to take care of the skin! To keep the skin moist and supple and at the same time helps new hairs to reach the skin's surface. Your clients should moisturise the skin daily. The Refreshing Gel or Moisturizing Lotion is particularly suitable for this.
  • Extending the time intervals: If your clients cannot come for treatment, e.g. holidays, etc. you can use the Hair Minimising Lotion and the Hair Minimising Serum. The products slow down regrowth and provide a finer hair structure.

TIP: For best results, we recommend using Double Scrub Ingrown Hair Peeling in combination with Ingrown Hair Serum. Hair Minimising Lotion should be used together with Hair Minimising Serum.
