How does facial waxing with Visage Wax work?

Don't know how to apply face wax? Here you will find answers to the most frequently asked questions about face waxing?

1.    When do we use the Visage wax?
-    Visage wax has been specially developed to respect the sensitive and finer skin of the face. Its elasticity allows it to remove the hair gently. It is enriched with calendula oil, which offers anti-redness properties and soothes the skin after hair removal.

2.    Is it recommended to use Pre&post Jasmin oil under Visage?
-    Jasmin oil is always recommended under all Hot waxes, to protect the skin and make a barrier on the skin before waxing. This is also recommended under Visage. Be aware that the Jasmin oil is very greasy, and you may not use more that a tiny bit when working on the face. To compare, we recommend 1 drop for a whole arm or leg!

3.    Can you ONLY use Visage on the face?
-    No! Visage can be used for ALL areas of the body and face. Visage is a semi creamy consistency that is really gentle on the skin and made for sensitive skin and areas.
Can be used for all hair type, both fine and strong.

4.    Is there a risk that my skin will sag and or my eyelids will droop if I wax my eyebrows?
-    The answer is no! If you have good firm support at the time of waxing, there is no risk.

In addition, waxing is done approximately every 4 weeks. It is totally safe for the skin at this frequency.

5.    Is it better to shape your eyebrows with wax, tweezers or thread?
-    Threading hair removal is very precise but more painful while waxing will result with less pain. Tweezing is not necessarily recommended if you have regrowth of more than a month. You will spend more time there and the result will not be as sharp as with wax.

6.    What is the perfect routine before and after face waxing?
-    It is important to exfoliate 48 hours before waxing to eliminate dead cells and facilitate hair removal. Apply a facemask afterwards to moisturize and soothe the skin. You should also moisturize your face daily.

7.    Is it normal to have redness after face waxing?
-    Yes, it can be perfectly normal to experience redness after waxing. This is due to the removal of the wax, which removes dead cells and stimulates blood circulation, as well as the heat from the wax on the skin. That's why it's important to work in thin layers and scrap it on not smear it on the skin.
-    If the redness persists for more than 24 hours, it could be an allergic reaction. If this happens, you can take an antihistamine and in the future use a wax that has the hypoallergenic formula suitable for all skin types. Visage, Fiorella, Christaline, Cashmere, Boudoir.

8.    Will waxing the on the face make the hair grow back thicker and darker?
-    No, hair will not grow back thicker or darker if the waxing is done correctly. For example, a woman who waxes her upper lip regularly will not result in hair that grows back thicker. If the hairs grow back thicker, this is due poor hair removal technique or hormonal issues.

9.    Why do we have more facial hair in different stages of life?
-    Indeed, once menopause has arrived, hair appears on the face and more particularly on the chin. This is due to higher male hormone levels. Similarly, during pregnancy facial hair can intensify. Typically, it returns back to normal a few months after pregnancy.

10.    Is it possible to wax the face with strips wax?
-    waxing with strips wax is not recommended. Indeed, the skin is much thinner on the face than on the rest of the body. Strips wax is not suitable for sensitive areas and can therefore cause more redness, breakouts and itching, or lifting of the skin.

11.    If the hair is not coming of, what am I doing wrong?
There can be more issues to that.
-    1. This is the most common one! The pressure when applying the wax is not firm enough, so the wax is only gliding on top og the skin/hair and not grabbing the hair by its roots. Make sure that you press the hair into the skin and hair, otherwise it will not grab the hair.
-    2. You have too much oil on the skin.
-    3. The hair is so fine and short, that you need to apply in first one direction, with the hair direction and remove against and then again in the opposite direction, against the hair direction and remove with the hair direction. So, you are waxing both ways.
