Applying CND™ SHELLAC™ is easy if you follow a few tips. These tips will help you making your Shellac manicure even better.
Some colours have a tendency to be very streaky. How can you avoid streaks?
- Use the 5 Point Polish Method. The technique is specially developed for all CND™ lacquers so that your coating always has a consistent quality. At the same time, this method saves a lot of time and you are much faster.
- Do not press too hard on the brush. Too much pressure will cause the paint to swell out the sides of the brush and streaks will appear.
The lacquer does not shine properly after the top coat. Why does this sometimes happen?
- You have to harden the top coat with button 3 in the original CND LED lamp.
This is important to create the perfect shine. You can find more on this topic HERE. - After hardening, the nails should rest for about 60 seconds before you remove the sticky film.
- Always remove the sticky film with a cleanser containing 99% isopropyl alcohol. If the alcohol content is lower or other additives are present, the coating may not shine properly. We recommend TopFinish Cleanser for this.
- Do not apply too much pressure when removing the sticky film.
- Unlike the other layers, the top coat must not be applied too thinly.
The paint looks wrinkled after curing! What is the reason?
- If you do not cure Shellac with the original CND LED lamp, the energy may not be sufficient to cure SHELLAC™ completely.
- If the colour has not been shaken properly beforehand, the ingredients may not be mixed properly and SHELLAC™ will shrink.
- If you apply too thick a coat, the polymer chain cannot form properly and SHELLAC™ contracts.
- When the bottle is almost empty and the colour has become too thick, the bottle must be replaced. SHELLAC™ cannot be thinned. That would change the formula and thus affect the durability.
- By taking proper care of your bottles and storing them properly, you can protect your material. Make sure the bottles are not too exposed to light and keep the neck of the bottle clean so that the bottle closes properly. If the neck of the bottle is dirty, this video will help you.
