How do I perform a hot wax treatment?

Step-by-step instructions for an successful hot wax treatment with Perron Rigot™

HOT WAX

Advantages: Hot Wax is the ideal all-round wax. Thanks to its easy and thin application and fast drying time, hair is removed thoroughly and efficiently. Hot Wax comes in a variety of textures and variants, making it ideal for all areas of the body - regardless of area, skin type or hair type. Read here why professionals prefer Hot Wax from Perron Rigot over conventional products.

Requirements: Even though the application technique is very simple, you should practice applying in thin layers with thicker borders on a regular basis.

Heating Instructions: The Perron Rigot digital wax heater makes wax beads melt to a smooth consistency in as little as 30 minutes with the rapid heat mode. Reduce the heat to the correct working temperature afterwards. Note that the melting behavior varies depending on the wax type, amount of wax and room temperature.

Astringent, cleansing and refreshing lotion for use before and after waxing. Main ingredients are cornflower water and antibacterial and repairing dragon's blood extract. Apply 1-2 pumpfuls of Blue Lotion on a cloth. Clean the area of the body to be treated with it against the direction of hair growth, so that the hair stands up.

Step 2 - Pre&Post Jasmin Oil

Soothing, moisturizing oil. Main ingredients are mineral oil, cottonseed oil and jasmine fragrance. Apply before treatment to protect the skin barrier.

Use only one drop of Jasmine Oil! Note: Jasmine oil is important component of the treatment. It makes waxing more comfortable and painless for your clients. However, if too much oil is used, the wax will not adhere properly to the skin later. Gently massage into the skin.

Step 3 - Apply Hot Wax

Take the amount of wax required for the area from the container using a wooden spatula.

Place the wax where you want to start applying it and then spread it with even pressure in the direction of hair growth. For large areas, the long edge of the spatula should be perpendicular to the skin. For uneven surfaces, apply the wax with the rounded end of the spatula.

Note: Hot Wax by Perron Rigot™ can be applied very thinly, allowing you to use up to 50% less wax than traditional wax brands!

The edges of the wax should be slightly thicker after application. This will make it easier to remove.

Step 4 - Remove Hot Wax

Let the wax dry for a few seconds. Touch the surface to check whether the wax has already hardened.

Grasp the wax at the slightly thicker edge and pull it off against the direction of hair growth in 1 or 2 steps, depending on the size of the treated area. Pull the wax off horizontally as close as possible to the skin surface and stretch the surrounding skin area during this process. Do not pull upwards! Soothe the skin immediately after waxing with light hand pressure.

For stubborn or short hair, the stepping technique according to Perron Rigot is a good choice:

  •  Apply wax against the direction of hair growth and let dry
  • Stretch the skin and remove the wax in the direction of hair growth in several small steps moving left and right

Step 5 - Aftercare
