In the video, our pros explain how the efile works, what you can do if your efile doesn't work, and how to properly care for it.

It is recommended to clean the handpiece of your efile after each use or at least once a day with a blast of compressed air from a can. This should be done in a direction from the retaining ring to the bit holder (away from the string). If you don't do this, your efile may make noise and break. This is not a product defect, but an error in using or caring your efile and cannot be faulted.

Compressed air in a can can be purchased at any office supply or auto supply store.

What you should consider when charging

  • When the light turns red, it's time to charge your Zippy eFile.
  • Avoid using the file WHILE charging. The Zippy eFile should always be used wirelessly and should only be charged when the device is turned off.
  • Let the battery discharge and charge for 7-8 hours to reach full power. The light will be green while the battery is charging. This does not mean that it is full.
  • When charging, make sure the speed is turned all the way down and the switch is in the neutral (center) position.
  • IMPORTANT - Please plug in the charger ONLY WHEN the battery is actually charging. Using the efile while the power cord is plugged in may damage the battery and cause the unit to malfunction.

What to do when the E-4 error is displayed?

If the display shows the E4 error, the motor of the handpiece has been overloaded during use. You are basically applying too much pressure and the motor switches off. You must either increase the speed if you want to apply the same pressure or work with less pressure. It may also be that the bit is too far into the handpiece and needs to be pulled out slightly.

To reset the unit, you need to turn it off. Then open the chuck on the handpiece and close it again. Remove the handpiece from the base and wait about 5 minutes before turning the unit back on. After that, it should work properly again.
