How is IBX Boost applied? Are there any tips & tricks I should be aware of?

IBX Boost is the optimal help for unstable nails. It is a three-part system that gives nails strength and protects them from damage. It forms the optimal base for any type of polish.

The flexible and strong nail coating IBX BOOST is the perfect complement to the IBX SYSTEM. IBX BOOST smoothes and protects the nail and serves as a buffer layer under other products.

How is IBX Boost applied?

  1. Soak a pad with Cinnatize™ Cleaner and clean the nails with it. Apply a thin layer of IBX BOOST BASE COAT to the entire nail and the free edge of the nail. The product must not get on the skin!
  2. Allow to cure for 1 minute in the UV or LED lamp.
  3. Apply a thin layer of IBX BOOST with minimal pressure (as when applying gel polish) to the entire nail. Wait until the product smoothes itself out.
  4. Allow to cure for 1 minute in the UV or LED lamp.
  5. For very damaged nails or to build up the nail, we recommend a second thin layer of IBX BOOST. This is applied as in step 3 and cured as in step 4. Apply 2 thin coats rather than 1 thick coat.
  6. If IBX BOOST is applied as a coating to the natural nail without subsequent colour, remove the dispersion film with 99% IPA/TopFinish, polish the surface of IBX BOOST with a 240 buffer and finish with a gel polish top coat of your choice.

Tip: When using Gel Polish, proceed directly with the first colour coat and then as usual. A separate base coat is not necessary.

All IBX BOOST products are cured for 1 minute in an LED or UV lamp. Due to the special formula (few monomers) there is no heat development during curing.

Do I have to be a nail technician to work with IBX Boost? Is the application complicated?

In order to use IBX Boost successfully, you should consider a few things

  • You do not need to be a qualified nail technician to work with IBX Boost.
  • After working and hardening the base coat of IBX Boost, work IBX BOOST gel in two thin layers. Apply the product with a gel brush.
  • Make sure to work the layers thin.
  • Apply IBX Boost similar to nail polish. Apply little pressure on the brush and rather hover over the nail. Also seal the tip of the nail.
  • Wait until the material has smoothed out before hardening it.
  • You can buffer IBX Boost into shape after curing.

Please note that the natural nail is not buffered before applying IBX BOOST. IBX BOOST is completely removable.

Do I always have to seal with IBX BOOST Top Coat?

  • The IBX BOOST Top Coat does not necessarily have to be applied. However, the IBX BOOST BASE COAT is absolutely necessary to achieve the best results. You cannot replace it with any other product.
  • If you just want to coat the natural nail to give it a little more hold, seal with IBX BOOST HIGH SHINE. This way the nail is not only slightly strengthened but also has a high shine.
  • If you want to continue with another system, you can work this after the second coat of IBX BOOST.

Tip: You can file the IBX BOOST coating into shape before sealing or working with another system. Be sure to carefully remove the filing dust before proceeding.
