There was a time when men were uncomfortable using waxing services and few regularly booked hair removal appointments at a salon. Those days are long behind us. Waxing treatments are offered not only in waxing studios, but also in beauty salons and hairdressing salons. Here, eyebrows are waxed especially often.

How to include men in your customer base

Eyebrow and back depilation are currently the most common waxing services for men. Just talk to your current clients and friends, they surely know men who would try a waxing treatment. Referrals are generally the best way to get started for you and your new clients. Expand your waxing offerings when you notice that your male customers are feeling comfortable. For example, start with a waxing treatment on the facial area and then, at a later appointment, offer a treatment on the upper body. Often, male clients are unsure of which areas can be waxed. Application Hot Wax

• For men with thick or robust hair, be sure to thoroughly cleanse the skin with Purifying Blue Lotion before and after waxing.
• Remove the amount of wax needed for the area from the container using a wooden spatula. Place the wax where you want to start applying it and spread it with even pressure in the direction of hair growth. For large areas, the long edge of the spatula should be perpendicular to the skin. For uneven areas, apply the wax with the rounded end of the spatula. The edges of the wax should be slightly thicker after application. This will make it easier to remove.
• Allow the wax to dry for a few seconds. Touch the surface to check if the wax has already hardened. If it sticks in some places, wait a short while longer. Grab the wax at the slightly thicker edge and pull it off against the direction of hair growth in 1-2 steps, depending on the treated area. Pull the wax off as close to the skin surface as possible and stretch the surrounding skin area while doing so. Do not pull upwards! Soothe the skin immediately after waxing with light hand pressure.

Sugaring for men

In the case of strong hair, as is often the case with men, sugaring is the most pleasant way to remove hair compared to other methods. The reason for this is that the hair is pulled off in the direction of growth. The risk of hair root inflammation is much lower.

• Sugaring is an effective and vegan alternative to hot wax.
• Sugaring pastes are made of sugar, lemon juice and water.
• The flicking technique is used for hair removal.
• Sugaring removes the whole hair including its root and leaves the skin smooth for up to 4 weeks.
