FAQ'S

Does imix work automatically?
Yes, as soon as you have positioned your bottle on the imix start pad, press the function button and let the imix do the automatic colour mixing.

How do I turn off the imix light?
If you prefer to turn off the coloured lights of imix or if you are working in a spa and want to create a quieter experience, press and hold the function button for more than 2 seconds. The colours will change one after the other before the unit turns off completely.

How do I get the miXer into the bottle?
Just put a miXer in the bottle you want to use, put on the brush and place the bottle on the imix start pad. See and be amazed. The magnetic mixing technology ensures consistent, brilliant colours. The miXers are simply removed with the miXtractor, cleaned in acetone and reused.

If the miXer is in the bottle, do I leave it there? What happens when the bottle is empty?
Yes, the miXer stays in the bottle until it is empty. Once the miXer is empty, use the miXtractor to remove it before cleaning it in acetone OR putting it directly into the new bottle with the same colour.

How do I clean the miXer?
You can clean the miXer in acetone. Take the miXer with the miXtractor out of the bottle and put it in a small amount of acetone.

What happens when the mixing balls come out with the miXer?
Sometimes the mixing balls come out with the miXer. This is completely normal. Just take the mixing balls out of the miXer and put them back in the bottle.

Does my miXer mix even if my varnish or gel polish does NOT contain mixing balls?
The mixing balls have nothing to do with the actual mixing. However, they are attracted to the miXer and therefore assist the process IF they are already present in the bottle. The miXer will still do its job - whether mixing balls are present or not.

Does it make a difference to the mixing process if my bottles are square shaped?
No, imix mixes square bottles just as easily. Due to the square and larger surface, you may not hear the mixing process - but it is mixed!

I don't want to use my miXer yet, where can I store it?
We recommend storing unused miXers in a small, airtight container and keeping them out of the reach of children and animals.

I have a product that is several years old. Do I need to do anything in advance before using imix?
The ingredients of bottles that have stood for too long may have completely separated. It is recommended to shake the bottle briefly by hand before using imix.

How long is the mixing time with imix?
The standard mixing time is 5 minutes. However, you can set the imix timer to mix for a shorter or longer time.

How long do the ingredients stay mixed in the bottles?
Once mixed, the ingredients in the bottles will remain mixed as long as they are not left for long periods of time. If you are unsure, you can manually shake the bottle once beforehand to allow the ingredients to mix.

Can I use imix for base and top coat?
Base and top coats do not contain any colour pigments, so there is no product separation. It is not necessary to use the imix.

Do imix and miXers work with gel polish/lacquer of all shapes and sizes?
Absolutely, imix is tested and suitable for all types.

Does imix work with colour gels?
Yes, but colour gels have a much thicker consistency/viscosity, which means that the miXer mixes very slowly. Depending on the consistency of the colour gel, the duration of the mixing process will vary. We do not believe that colour gels need the imix. If the pot fits in the imix and you put a miXer in it - it will also mix the colour gel.

Why does my imix flash white?
If you use a particularly thick gel or varnish, the imix flashes white. The colour indicator shows that the imix has detected a product with a thick consistency. The timer starts and mixing begins. After 5 minutes, mixing stops and imix switches off. Please remember: You can set imix to restart the mixing process if you feel that the contents are not mixed well enough. To switch imix back on, press the function key once.

Why imix when you can shake?
Of course you can still shake your bottles. But seriously, why shake manually when it works automatically?  In addition, when you shake the pigments manually, you don't get the same mixture as when you imix them. Plus, constant shaking can contribute to health problems like carpal tunnel syndrome. #schonedeinwrist

Does imix come with a plug?
It is a universal product and comes with a 1.5 metre USB plug that can be connected to any laptop or USB adapter plug. Adapter plugs can be purchased separately if required.

Where is imix produced and manufactured?
imix is made up of several elements sourced from China and the UK. imix is assembled and packaged in the UK.
