What is the Nimue 3-phase system?

What really happens in the 3 Nimue phases? What do the 3 phases involve? Learn about the basic philosophy behind Nimue's 3 phase system here

In the 3 Nimue phases, the skin will slowly and gradually get used to the ever-increasing amounts of AHA (Fruit Acid) in the products and professional treatments. Phase 1 consists of the correct recommended products for home care, must be used for at least 4-6 weeks before the addition of phase 2.

Phase 1 has AHA concentrations up to 7% and a PH value not less than 4.5. Phase 1 products are determined by skin type and conditions, also known as skin classification. Nimue works based on 4 skin classifications:

  1. Interactive (delicate, sensitive, sensitive and inflamed skin).
  2. Hyperpigmented (melasma, chloasma, age spots, dark pigmentation, uneven skin tone)
  3. Problematic (impure skin, oily skin, acne skin in stages 1-3)
  4. Environmentally damaged (environmentally damaged skin, dehydrated, mature, prematurely aged, coarse, robust, large pores, sun damaged, lines and wrinkles)

The classification is always determined by consultation with a professional, certified Nimue therapist and a personal program is made for the first 4-6 weeks. It can be started with a Nimue Starter kit but can also be fewer products in full size. A good tip is not to take too many new products in use at once but to build slowly so that the skin can keep up and get used to the many new actives that will all teach the skin something new and different.

A typical Phase 1 program will include:

  • Cleansing Gel / Cleansing Gel Lite
  • Conditioner / Conditioner Lite
  • Exfoliating Enzyme Peeling
  • Moisturizer. Nimue Day, Moisture Lite, Day Fader
  • Night care / regulating / balancing product eg. Skin Regulator, Nimue Night, Purifier, Night Fader
  • Sunprotection eg. Nimue Sun-C spf 40 or Nimue Environmental Shield spf 50
There is usually a period of getting used to the new Nimue products, read more about the Transitional Period here in our knowledge database with questions & answers and under Blog at www.icgroup.dk

Phase 2 night serum, either Active Lotion or Active Gel, recommended to use on clean skin every other night before night cream. Phase 2 has 10% AHA concentrations and a PH value of 3.5.

Active Lotion is for normal, mature, dehydrated and dry skin.

Active Gel is for oily, clogged and impure skin with outbreaks.

Phase 3 here we are adding the professional Nimue salon treatments with AHA. All have a PH value of 3.0 and vary in AHA concentrations from 15% -? The mildest is Nimue Active-Rejuvenation treatment with Bio-Active-Complex that contains 15% Triple AHA Complex. Then you can advance to rejuvenating treatment with 35% glycolic acid - Advanced Rejuvenation and after a few months on to the 3 SRC treatments for specific skin classifications and maintain with the powerful Smart Resurfacer. The latter acid treatments have a secret content of AHA and / or BHA concentration.

The skin must be introduced correctly to Nimue through these 3 phases, to ensure the best start with Nimue with minimal irritation but maximum stimulation and the best results.

It is important to understand the habituation period the skin will go through, we call this the transition period. Read more about this on our Blog here:
