What is the difference between the different SHELLAC™ top and base coats and how their combination will help you customize a SHELLAC™ treatment to your customer's needs?
There is a reason as to why SHELLAC™ has different types of base and top coats. It is all to for you to be able to customize a treatment to the type of nails your customer has and their lifestyle.
When choosing between the different CND™ SHELLAC™ Base - and Top Coats you have to consider the following:
- Identify how good or bad the condition of the natural nails is
- What is the lifestyle of the customer
- How much strength and durability is needed
- How much time and commitment is the customer willing to invest
Original Base Coat and Xpress5 Top Coat:
This combination of Base- and Top Coat is suitable for a strong, healthy natural nail with optimum moisture balance in it. The nail will be very flexible and doesn’t need a Top Coat with a lot of strength. Perfect for a customer with a lifestyle that doesn’t involve a lot of cooking, cleaning, or doing the dishes. Also, when people get older, their nails tend to get stronger and therefore need a more flexible top coat. The removal of this SHELLAC™ service will take only 5 minutes.
Original Base Coat and Original Top Coat:
Original Top Coat will fit most of your customers. It is a combination that is suitable for nails that are normal in strength, they can still be a little dry though, or have smaller ridges in them. The Original Top Coat will provide the strength needed and due to the viscosity, it will also smooth out the surface. The removal time is 8 - 10 minutes.
Original Base Coat and Duraforce Top Coat:
If the nails are weak and thin or just very dry the nail needs more support and this combination is the best choice. It can be that the nails are damaged or overfilled. Duraforce Top Coat will provide the needed strength to the natural nail. The removal time of such SHELLAC™ service is 15 minutes.
Wear Extender Base Coat and Original Top Coat:
If a customer has quite normal nails, but struggles with chipping due to an active lifestyle, or has damaged nails, the Wear Extender Base Coat would provide a stronger adhesion to the natural nail with the option of smoothing out any ridges or imperfections. Removal time is 15 minutes.
Wear Extender Base Coat and Duraforce Top Coat:
If a customer, with an active lifestyle, has nails that are weak, thin, dry and maybe even overfilled, so it has bumps and ridges in it, the combination of the Wear Extender Base Coat and the Duraforce Top Coat will contribute to better adhesion, durability and smooth out any imperfections, together with providing the needed strength to the natural nail. Removal time is 15 minutes.
Any Base Coat and NoWipe Top Coat:
NoWipe Top Coat is a top coat that is used to achieve the chrome look. It can be used in combination with previously mentioned customized services to make sure that strength and durability are accommodated. It's viscosity is very thin, so if applied too thin it can get discolored. Here the removal time would depend on the choice of base coat.
SHELLAC does not last with any combination of top and base coat?
In some cases, the nails are simply too weak and broken for you to just proceed with SHELLAC™. In this case there are several options you can use to strengthen the nail underneath.
